Name: Beth Haughan
Beth, who hails from Renfrewshire in Scotland, currently studies as an undergraduate with Gordon Fergus-Thompson at the Royal College of Music. She began playing piano at the age of ten with John Thwaites and continued her studies with him at the Purcell School on a MDS scholarship. Her time at the Purcell School included playing solo and chamber recitals at the Purcell Room and Queen Elizabeth Hall respectively. Throughout her studies, Beth has had masterclasses with Stephen Hough, Steven Osborne, Kathryn Stott, Martino Tirimo and Dmitri Alexeev. She is also interested in orchestral piano and is part of Scottish Opera's Connect Orchestra. Another interest is Musical Outreach work which has taken her to Seoul in South Korea for a week, as part of a group, to give workshops and concerts in community centres, hospitals and orphanages.
