Chris Goodman is a graduate of Royal College of Music where he studied as a foundation scholar on the BMus course with Timothy Lines, Barnaby Robson and Bass Clarinet with Paul Richards and Michael Harris, graduating in 2010.  He won the Steven Trier Prize for Bass Clarinet and in 2009 was awarded a place on the English National Opera Emerge Scheme.

 

He was selected as an RCM ‘Rising Star’ for the Cadogan Hall series and upon graduation was selected to attend the Castleton Festival where he performed in the Festival & Opera Orchestras as Principal Clarinet and on Eb and Bass Clt under the baton of Lorin Maazel.

 

As part of the BBC Proms ‘Composer Portraits’ Series he performed live on BBC Radio 3 in the European Premiere of Chamber music by award winning composer Augusta Read Thomas. He performed Mozart Clarinet Concerto with Orchestra of Situation Opera under the direction of Daniel Capps and Clarinet Concerto No 2 by Louis Spohr with London Chamber Academy Orchestra.

In December 2014 he toured China as Principal Clarinet with London Arte Chamber Orchestra and as concerto soloist in the third movement of Weber's 2nd Clarinet Concerto, finishing up at the concert hall in Shanghai's magnificent Oriental Arts Centre.

 

He has performed with Orchestras and ensembles such as English Touring Opera, Aldeburgh World Orchestra, Brighton Philharmonic, London Arte Chamber Orchestra, London Arts Orchestra, Faust Ensemble, Opera South, National Concert Orchestra, Orion Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus Sinfonia, Sinfonia Cymru, Ensemble Cymru, Brillig Ensemble, Guernsey Symphony Orchestra, and Tete a Tete Opera Festival.
