Davina Shum

Davina Shum was born in Auckland, New Zealand. She studied at the University of Auckland and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In her professional career she worked with artists such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Edward Gardner and Charles Hazlewood involved in projects for the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Southbank Centre, Barbican Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. In 2012 Davina performed as principal cellist with the English National Ballet during their acclaimed tour to Sydney.

 

In popular music, she has tourse with iconic 80s bands ABC and Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, as well as recorded live for BBC6 with a Moog ensemble from the members of the band Goldfrapp and Charles Hazlewood.
